This week, a group gathered at a local church, bringing together people from many congregations to sing Christmas songs. It was a beautiful reflection of a tradition that began in a shepherd’s field, where angels proclaimed:
Joy to the world! The Lord is come;
Let Earth receive her King.
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing
For a moment, it felt as though time stood still, and in the stillness of the night, I could almost hear the angels singing. Many shared songs, and together, we lifted our voices in harmony, just as Ephesians 5:19 encourages: “We were filled with the Spirit Speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music in your hearts to the Lord.”
We sang with grateful hearts, giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. On that day, amidst the unity of worship and song, I truly heard the angels sing.
